Where your request goes when you fill in a form, who could receive it, and how this site expects to make money, written as it stands today rather than as we hope it will.

Last updated

The short version. HyreSolar is an information site, not an installer. It intends to earn money from solar professionals who pay to receive requests homeowners ask to have passed on. Matching is not live yet, the commercial terms are not settled, and nothing you send goes to a solar company unless you agree first.

Where does my request go?

  1. It posts to this site. The form sends what you typed to HyreSolar’s own server, not to an installer and not to a lead marketplace.
  2. It is stored and emailed to the publisher. The server keeps a copy in a Cloudflare database and emails one to the HyreSolar inbox, where a person reads it.
  3. A person replies. We answer the question you asked. If you want to be put in touch with a solar professional, we tell you that matching is not open in your area yet.
  4. Nothing else happens without your agreement. No solar company receives your name, address or phone number until you have been told who it is and have said yes.

Will installers receive my request?

That is the intended model, and it is the reason the form exists.

When matching opens, a request you agree to share would go to a solar professional that serves your area and has passed the checks on how we vet.

That company would then contact you directly, and any contract would be between you and them.

Where this stands today. Matching is not live, and HyreSolar publishes no count or list of participating companies because there is none to publish. How many companies would receive one request, and on what terms, is not settled. This page will be updated, and dated, when that changes.

The intended model is that solar professionals pay HyreSolar for homeowner requests they receive. Homeowners are never charged. HyreSolar does not take commission on a system you buy, does not sell your personal information, and does not run paid placements, sponsored posts or affiliate rankings.

What can money not buy here?

  • Placement. A mention, link or position in any guide, comparison or tool.
  • Wording. A kinder description, or the removal of a warning sign we publish.
  • Research. Inclusion in, or exclusion from, a study or a dataset.
  • Vetting. A pass on any check. The checks are the same whether or not a company pays.

The editorial policy sets out how the research is kept separate from the commercial side, and the privacy policy covers what is collected and how long it is kept.

Questions people ask

Does HyreSolar get paid when I submit a request?
Not today. HyreSolar intends to be paid by solar professionals for passing on requests that homeowners ask to have passed on. Those commercial terms are not settled, and no company is paying HyreSolar for requests at the time of writing. You are never charged.
Which solar companies will receive my details?
None yet. Matching with solar professionals is not live. When it is, no company receives your details unless you have been told which one and have agreed.
Can a company pay for a better write-up or a higher placement?
No. There are no paid placements, sponsored articles or paid rankings on HyreSolar, and any future payment for requests buys nothing editorial.
